Transgender People Face

People are born transgender. It happens while developing in utero.

Every fetus starts out as “female” while developing during the 1st trimester of pregnancy. Approximately at the end of the 1st trimester/beginning of the 2nd trimester, hormones develop through the fetus’s brain, which starts the development of the fetus’s reproductive organs and secondary sexual characteristics (testicles and penis, and also clitoris and ovaries).

For a cisgender fetus (one whose gender identity aligns with their assigned gender at birth) to develop, they receive the exact amount of estrogen and testosterone to either make them male or female.

For a transgender fetus (someone whose gender identity does not align with their assigned gender at birth) to develop, they receive a different combination of hormones.

This leads to a Male-to-Female Transgender Person (MTF) having more estrogen than a cisgender male within their development. The doctor assigns a MTF baby as “male” at birth. And it also leads to a Female-to-Male Transgender Person (FTM) having more testosterone than a cisgender female within their development. The doctor assigns a FTM baby as “female” at birth.

An MTF person, who has more testosterone in her system than a cisgender female and more estrogen in her system than a cisgender male, may physically develop into someone whom our society sees as “male.”

An FTM person, who has more estrogen in his system than a cisgender male and more testosterone in his system than a cisgender female, may physically develop into someone whom our society sees as “female.”

Throughout a transgender person’s life, people in our society refer to them with the wrong pronouns (the pronouns assigned to them at birth). This is due to our society’s perception about what a “female” and a “male” should look and act like. It is not based on how someone individually identifies (which is how it should be). We are all entitled to our own identities.

Imagine that you (a cisgender female or a cis-gender male) are forced since birth to act and assimilate as if you were the opposite gender. People would then legally force you to use the incorrect restroom while in public spaces …and… your society (in which you live) passes Religious Freedom Laws and other laws to be able to legally discriminate against you. All because you were born with a different batch of hormones than cisgender people.

This is my educated and researched opinion about the issues that are being presented throughout our country. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Please feel free to educate yourself more about these issues. In doing so, I would highly suggest using “Google Scholar” as your resource, not Fox News or any other media-driven sources. Please go to the actual research.

I am always here to educate and inform each and every one of you who may have questions.
