Communication Problems

Intimate partners who wish to communicate more effectively in their relationship may choose to explore relationship communication therapy. One of our trained therapists can help individuals examine communication strategies to determine whether one’s communication style adequately conveys one’s thoughts, needs, and goals. There are a variety of therapeutic communication techniques we can incorporate into practice to help you with:

  • Acceptance
  • Active Listening
  • Using Silence more Effectively
  • Giving Recognition
  • Seeking Clarification
  • Poor Communication Skills

Marital & Premarital Counseling

Improve your relationship and work towards a happy marriage with premarital Counseling. Take the first steps towards a brighter marriage. Marriage counseling is a useful and trusted way to deepen the bonds that connect you to your partner or to resolve issues in a positive, meaningful and sustainable way. Most couples wait an average of six years before seeking professional help with their marital dissatisfaction – a very long time to suffer distress, alienation, and loneliness. We can help with:

  • Understanding the Unique Dynamics & Issues of Your Relationship
  • Poor Communication
  • Lack of Intimacy or Incompatible Sex Drives
  • Recurring Issues
  • Inability to Forgive & Move One

Divorce & Uncoupling

Breakups and divorce are painful and multi-faceted. Uncoupling therapy can help individuals process and cope with the difficulty of disentangling their lives from their partners’ and help couples with children develop a healthy co-parenting relationship post-divorce, which can help minimize the impact on children. Divorce counseling can be beneficial as you work through the emotional process and navigate this often complex and uncertain change in your life. Let us counsel you on:

  • Talking About the Dissolution of the Marriage in a Constructive Fashion
  • Setting Guidelines to Reduce Hostility and Emotional Damage
  • Working Through Closure
  • Co-Parenting
  • Devising a Unified Narrative About “Why” the Divorce/Uncoupling
  • Moving Forward, Logistically and Emotionally

Infidelity

Individual therapy can help someone who has been affected by infidelity. Therapy may help explain a person’s response to their partner’s affair. It may focus on forgiving, letting go, or moving on. There are many ways to handle feelings that come with infidelity. Counseling can be a very effective way of improving your relationship after infidelity. Our therapists will help with:

  • How to Regain Trust After Infidelity
  • Can a cheater change?
  • What is the main cause of the infidelity?
  • Recovering After the Affair
  • Can you stay married?

Couples Intensive Sessions

Couples Intensives, lasting between 4, 6 and 8 hours.

Working privately with a therapist for 4-6 hours will produce the same benefit as a weekend couple’s workshop or a number of monthly therapy sessions. An intensive session can create the same dramatic and long-lasting shifts in the relationship.  The tools and insights you learn from an intensive can be applied in daily life immediately.

CRSH therapists have helped many couples reconnect and helped each individual to improve their communication skills and find joy.

Imago Relationship Therapy

Transform your conflicts into opportunities for healing and growth.

Imago therapy is a specific style of relationship therapy designed to help conflict within relationships become opportunities for healing and growth. The term imago is Latin for “image” and, within imago relationship therapy, refers to an “unconscious image of familiar love.” According to Imago theory, when we are attracted to a potential love partner, we’re actually picking the perfect person to help us work through our wounds from childhood. The combined traits, both negative and positive, of our male and female caretakers from childhood form what is called our Imago. With this form of therapy, our therapists help clients open up the dialogue between them. We help you:

  • Agree to Listen to Others Without Judgment.
  • Accept Your Partner’s Views as Equally Valid As Your Own.

Polyamory

Polyamory, meaning “many loves,” can be defined as the practice of having or pursuing multiple romantic relationships with the knowledge and consent of all involved. Falling into the category of ethical nonmonogamy, polyamory is becoming increasingly recognized as a relationship style. Polyamory is distinguished from polygamy in that polygamous people are married to more than one person, whereas polyamorous people may or may not be married to one other person. Our therapists can help partners navigate polyamory and other non-monogamous relationship styles. Issues that may affect non-monogamous partnerships include:

  • Boundary Navigation
  • The Potential for Jealousy
  • Safe-Sex Practices
  • Communication Skills
  • Feelings of Inadequacy or Neglect

Parenting

Our parenting counseling is a service that aims to provide the necessary knowledge, tools, guidance, and most especially, support to parents without bias or judgment. This way, parents can become more fully equipped to take care of their children. Although becoming a parent is rewarding, it is also very challenging. We can help you navigate:

  • Separation or Divorce
  • Child Behavior and Development
  • Aggression or Violence
  • Family Tension
  • Confidence or Self-Esteem
  • Substance Abuse
  • Teen Issues
  • Mental Health

Family Conflict / Family Therapy

During family therapy, clients can examine their family’s ability to solve problems and express thoughts and emotions in a productive manner. Explore family roles, rules and behavior patterns to identify issues that contribute to conflict — and ways to work through these issues. The goal of family therapy is to help family members improve communication, solve family problems, understand and handle special family situations (for example, death, serious physical or mental illness, or child and adolescent issues), and create a better functioning home environment. The goals of this therapy are:

  • Develop and Maintain Healthy Boundaries
  • Facilitate Cohesion and Communication
  • Build Empathy and Understanding
  • Promote Problem-Solving by Better Understanding Family Dynamics
  • Reduce Conflict Within the Family
